An Infinix Gaming Tablet Is On The Horizon

Listen to article

Last year, we saw the Infinix XPAD‘s release. This was the first tablet launched by the brand since its inception – with a mission to deliver solid performance at an approachable price point. Now, it seems like it’s being followed up with the Infinix XPAD GT. Here’s what you need to know.

The first Infinix XPAD carried a reasonable spec sheet for its price. This included an 11-inch IPS LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution, the famous MediaTek Helio G99 used in a lot of value-driven devices, up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage (expandable to 1TB), as well as quad stereo speakers. This all made for an affordable media system that could be used on the go. On top of that, you could even get some gaming on the device (albeit not at the highest settings).

A lot of the compromises could be forgiven due to its positioning in the market. However, the Infinix XPAD GT is looking to be a more premium offering to perform more robust tasks.

Not much is known about the device other than the fact that its existence has been confirmed on X. Based on the image below, it seems to also have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage onboard.

As a GT model, we’re expecting a stronger processor to be installed in the follow-up to the original XPAD. There may also be 12GB of RAM available for heavier multitasking, as well as a bump from 90 to 120Hz for smoother scrolling.

Even the exterior design may have more radical additions due to the “gamer” aesthetic that they might be aiming for with this model.

We’ll keep you posted on any updates that come our way.
