Apple has just announced its Independent Repair Provider Program, allowing companies interested in offering out-of-warranty repair service for iPhones.
Companies who are interested in repairing out-of-warranty iPhones may apply in the program. Once qualified, Apple will be allowing them access to parts, tools, training, service guides, diagnostics and resources to perform repairs on out-of-warranty iPhones. Services include iPhone display and battery replacements.
Independent companies that apply are required to be an established business, with its business documents set to be reviewed and verified by Apple. Currently, the program is only available to companies in the US. Apple has stated that it will expand to Europe and Asia in the future.
