Apple introduces M4 chip for new iPad Pro

Listen to article

Apple introduced the new M4 chip for the iPad Pro at their recent ‘Let Loose’ event for iPads.

This chip delivers excellent performance to the newly-released tablet, built using second-gen 3nm technology. The M4 is a system on a chip that advances Apple’s power-efficient silicon with the thin design of the iPad Pro.

It also features a new display engine for enhanced precision, color, and brightness with the iPad Pro’s Ultra Retina XDR panel. It also boasts a new CPU with up to 10 cores, coming with a new 10-core GPU.

The new chip brings Dynamic Caching, hardware-accelerated ray tracing, and hardware-accelerated mesh shading to the iPad for the first time. In addition, the M4 has Apple’s fastest Neural Engine ever, capable of up to 38 trillion operations per second.

It’s slated to be faster than the neural processing unit of any AI PC today. This is combined with faster memory bandwidth, next-gen machine learning (ML) accelerators in the CPU, and a high-performing GPU.

The M4 makes the new iPad Pro an extremely powerful device with artificial intelligence integrations. But what do you guys think about Apple’s new M4 chip? If you’re interested, you can read more about it in a recent article from Apple’s newsroom.
