Two months after its announcement at NAB 2024 19, the Blackmagic Camera app is now available on Android 991 devices.
The app offers professional-grade shooting features, along with compatibility with Blackmagic Design’s other video production tools. In other words, it makes shooting easier through streamlined interfaces and automation.
This is also free, which is great if readers consider that other apps catering to photographers come with premium pricing.
The Android version of the app will have a similar interface to its iOS counterpart. This comes with an overlay showing users shooting information like focus and exposure.
In addition, users also have quick access to settings by tapping items on the HUD. The Blackmagic Camera app can capture footage and send it directly to its dedicated cloud service. This is a nice touch for accessibility in terms of editing and general post-production.
So you didn’t mention that this particular camera app will only work on certain Android flagship smartphones, and not the vanilla midrange and budget brands?
