BPI backtracks after announcing everything is fixed

At 2:56AM (June 8), BPI sent out a media release that all the problems from the glitch have been rectified and corrected.

We sent out the announcement to our readers (via Facebook) yet continue to receive feedback that their accounts are still negative or problematic.

This morning (11:07AM), BPI sent another statement there are still problems. Here’s a copy of their explanation.

This means BPI will shut down electronic channels again today — ATM, BPIExpressOnline and the BPI App.

It looks like this problem has not been fully resolved yet. We will post updates as we get them.

Related: The problem started when people reported unauthorized withdrawals and credits to their bank accounts yesterday.

    ang hirap ng mga nasa mindanao. na martial law na, pahirapan pa ang pagkuha ng pondo mula sa bpi.

    ewan ko kung may ‘deep freeze’ app-like ang mga bangko. ang hirap mag-debit/credit/audit sa iiisang account. paano na kaya kung lahat ng accounts ang may problema?

    sana maayos na ang problemang ito ng bpi sa lalong madaling panahaon.

    Naku sakit ng ulo ng mga taga ISG ng BPI. anyare at andaming mis-posting? anu ginagawa ng nag momonitor ng batch? saka di lang double, triple posting yung iba multiple talaga. hirap kayang mg trace ng transactions .restore ng database tapos post ulit ng transactions or rollback? pero kung posted na hirap i-rollback nyan haha

    Magsarado na kayo BPI. Nakakahiya kapalpakan niyo. No amount of apologies can save you from this screw up epic fail.
