Converge to lease fiber to SpaceX, Starlink to launch in PH in 2023

A deal has been struck between Dennis Anthony H. Uy’s Converge ICT Solution and Elon Musk’s  Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SpaceX)

Dennis Uy said that they’ve come to an agreement to lease fiber lines and maintain ground support equipment for SpaceX via a report from Inquirer.

Starlink will officially launch commercially in the Philippines in 2023 as opposed to its original target date which is sometime this year.

The cost of satellite internet has been restrictive for most internet users but Starlink’s entry-level plans begin at USD99 per month but has a one-time installation fee of USD 499

At that price, it’s going to be tough as competition is stiff. ot clear if multiple users can use a single account and ofcourse reliability and customer service support is going to be the difference.

For that price they can keep it I’m not sure it’s going to be that reliable anyway

And ibsoubt where this service would be useful like in the sticks like province where people live in middle of fields will be able to afford this kind of tech

I need to be priced realistically and be made affordable 99 dollars per month is close to 5,000 pesos
