DJI has confirmed to CNET.com about the existence of the two new drones after it appeared in a catalog of a UK-based retailer before it’s scheduled unveiling. According to the report, DJI was supposed to have a press event on July 18 but was postponed and the company didn’t have the time to pull the listing before it went to print.
Looking at the catalog, the Mavic 2 will have two models – the Mavic 2 Pro with a 1-inch CMOS sensor Hasselblad camera, and the Mavic 2 Zoom with 2x optical zoom (24mm – 48mm). Other features mentioned are 1080 video transmission, up to 8km transmission distance, max speed of 20m/s, 31 minutes max flight time, and omnidirectional obstacle sensing with APAS and Active Track 2.0. Like it’s predecessor, the new Mavic 2 drones can also be folded up for portability.
