FDA sets price ceiling on essential emergency medical supplies sold online

Along with the Department Memorandum No. 2020-0058 dated January 20, 2020, and February 11, 2020, issued by the Department of Health, the Food and Drug Authority released a Circular imposing a price limit on the prices of emergency medicines and supplies.

Signed by Director General Rolando Domingo, online selling of any of the emergency medical supplies above the price ceiling imposed is prohibited. All FDA Inspectors and Regulatory Enformence Unit agents are also tasked to monitor all online platforms to ensure compliance. This Circular also enables said inspectors and agents to “pursue and implement immediate regulatory and enforcement actions as warranted.

The price limit shall take effect immediately, and will remain until revoked, repealed or rescinded.
