Commuters along EDSA now have free WiFi at 17 busway stations, thanks to a joint initiative by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Department of Transportation (DOTr). The move aims to improve passenger experience and support the recently launched GCash e-payment system for the EDSA Busway.

At present, it is optimized for electronic payments, messaging, web browsing, and emails. According to DICT Secretary Henry Aguda, complete fiber connectivity will be implemented by March.
The service is also available at major stations such as Balintawak, SM North EDSA, Quezon Avenue, Ortigas, Ayala, Taft Avenue, and SM Mall of Asia. The effort was hailed by acting Transportation Secretary Gio Lopez as a ‘good example of government cooperation’ aimed at applying technological solutions for commuting. Complaints may be lodged by passengers though DICT’s hotline number 1326.
