Google has announced a new feature for the Gemini app. It allows users to create and export files directly from chat, being able to turn ideas into ready-to-use documents.

Google Gemini can now create and export files in the chat either from text, notes or images sent by the user.
With a simple prompt, users can now generate files such as PDFs, Microsoft Word documents, Excel spreadsheets and Google Workspace files without leaving the app. This removes the need to manually copy, paste or reformat content across different platforms.
The update supports a wide range of formats. These include Google Docs, Sheets and Slides.

It also supports .pdf, .docx, .xlsx, .csv, LaTeX, TXT, RTF and Markdown files. Once generated, files can be downloaded to the device or exported to Google Drive.
The rollout is now available globally to all Gemini users.
