According to a recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) poll, Globe‘s value brand TM has been the most popular mobile brand among Filipinos nationally, garnering 30% of respondents.
Face-to-face interviews with 1,200 persons across the country were conducted for the poll from March 26 to March 29 this year. Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao each had 300 respondents who were permitted to mention multiple network providers.
According to the findings, the brand was liked by 48% of users in Mindanao, 31% of users in Luzon, and 19% of users in the Visayas who use mobile phones. With 27% of the urban market and 36% of the rural market, TM also led in both.
“We are delighted to see that TM has become the most preferred mobile brand by Filipinos nationwide. It is a testament to our commitment to providing reliable and affordable mobile services to our customers. We would like to thank our subscribers for their continued trust and support and we will continue to innovate and improve our services to meet their evolving needs and exceed their expectations,” said Darius Delgado, Head of Globe’s Consumer Mobile Business.
In contrast, 34% of respondents in the National Capital Region (NCR), mainly Metro Manila, chose Globe as their preferred provider. With 30% of the market, it was the second-most popular mobile brand in Luzon.
Globe was also used 25% more frequently than the next provider in cities. The brand was also favoured by about 23% of rural cellular customers.
73% of adult Filipinos were thought to have at least one cell phone at the time of the poll, according to estimates. Eighty percent of cell phone owners indicated they only use one SIM card, 18 percent said they use two, and one percent said they use three or four SIM cards.
From only 2-3% from 1995 to 1999, the percentage of people who owned a mobile phone reached at 85% in December 2013. From March 2014 to December 2021, it usually declined, dropping as low as 57%, before rebounding to a range of 72% to 85% from April 2022 to March 2023.
