GSIS offers 3-month payment break for members affected by Typhoons Tino and Uwan

Listen to article

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) is giving members and pensioners affected by Typhoons Tino and Uwan a much-needed breather with a three-month grace period on emergency loan payments.

The initiative aligns with Proclamation No. 1077, declaring a State of National Calamity due to Typhoon Tino’s widespread damage, underscoring GSIS’s commitment to supporting government workers and retirees in times of crisis.

GSIS President and General Manager Jose Arnulfo Veloso said the move aims to help borrowers recover without the burden of immediate repayment. “This grace period is more than just a financial reprieve, it’s a lifeline,” he said.

The GSIS Emergency Loan Program runs from November 7, 2025, to February 7, 2026, and is open to qualified members and pensioners through the GSIS website, GSIS Touch app, or any GSIS branch. The first payments will start between April and August 2026, depending on the loan release date.
