The HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2-inch (2025) has been unveiled at an event this week. It has a PaperMatte display with a Tandem OLED panel.
As the name suggests, it spans 12.2-inches with a 2800 x 1840 resolution peaking at 2,000 nits. With HUAWEI’s patented PaperMatte display, the tablet is generally resistant to glare and reflections.
It kept the dual-rear shooters from last year, equipped with a 50-megapixel main and an 8-megapixel ultrawide. For selfies and video calls, it has an 8-megapixel front camera as well.
For its chipset though, HUAWEI has kept it under wraps as per usual. However, reports online have noted that it might be the Kirin 9000S. Interestingly, the software front is up in the air as well.
The tablet isn’t available in China just yet, but people are buzzing over whether or not it will ship with HUAWEI’s HarmonyOS Next. Netizens are assuming that it will ship with EMUI internationally though.
The HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2-inch is priced at EUR 849.99 (~PHP 53,000) with 12GB/256GB. It’s also available for EUR 999.99 (~PHP 62,000) with 512GB of storage instead.
I also have to note that the model with the PaperMatte display is exclusive for the 512GB variant. Both variants, however, come bundled with a free magnetic keyboard. We’ll update readers for anything on whether this tablet will be offered in the Philippines once details are available.
