HUAWEI continues its mission of promoting healthier, tech-empowered lifestyles with a major win alongside MPT DriveHub Cycling Team at The Great Revival: Tour of Luzon. The team took home the overall championship title after an intense 8-day race that covered over 1,000 kilometers across Northern and Central Luzon.

Reviving one of Asia’s longest-running cycling events, the Tour of Luzon 2025 saw 17 teams (13 local and 4 international) compete in a grueling, multi-stage race. The route spanned seven provinces, kicking off in Paoay on April 23 and concluding in Baguio’s Camp John Hay on May 1.
The MPT DriveHub Cycling Team emerged as the overall champion, taking home a PHP 1 million cash prize and the prestigious Perpetual Trophy. Team rider Mervin Corpuz highlighted the win as a full team effort, stating, “It’s really the whole team’s effort that brought us here.”

A key factor in the team’s success?
—Their partnership with HUAWEI and the use of the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Series throughout the race.
Equipped with advanced fitness tracking, the smartwatch supported the cyclists with real-time data on heart rate, cadence, speed, and calories burned. The Sunflower Positioning System ensured precise GPS tracking and full-color route navigation, helping riders stay on course over difficult terrain.
HUAWEI’s involvement in the Tour of Luzon is part of its ongoing effort to empower users through tech-driven wellness. Whether for elite athletes or everyday users, the WATCH GT 5 Series reflects HUAWEI’s broader mission of helping people live healthier, more connected lives.
