Maya and JuanHand have both expressed support for the Scam Safe initiative of the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC), aimed at protecting Filipinos from online scams and cyber fraud.

The Scam Safe initiative, led by the CICC under the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), focuses on educating the public about common scam tactics and promoting safer online behavior, especially as more Filipinos use digital financial services.
Maya said its support aligns with its long-standing focus on cybersecurity. The company uses system safeguards such as real-time monitoring and risk controls to help protect users across payments, savings, and credit services. These protections are built directly into the app to encourage safer digital habits.
JuanHand also backed the initiative, showing its commitment to helping users stay alert against fraud and scam-related activities in the digital lending space. The company supports efforts that promote awareness and responsible use of online financial platforms.
According to Maya’s Head of Corporate Affairs Toff Rada, partnerships between the government and private companies are important in responding to cyber threats. He said cooperation helps spread awareness and improve how scams are addressed.
Alongside platform security, Maya continues to educate users through its ScamPatrol campaign, which shares tips on spotting and avoiding scams.
Both companies said fighting online fraud requires shared responsibility and continued collaboration to keep the digital financial space safer for Filipinos.
