Meralco refunds convenience fee, suspends it temporarily

Meralco has announced that it will refund customers the convenience fees charged by their payment gateway partners.

According to a notification posted in the Meralco app, the company is crediting back the PHP 47 convenience fee that customers paid between May 16, 2020, to July 15, 2020, and should reflect on their respective debit, credit, or e-wallet accounts. Additionally, Meralco will also make system changes by July 16, 2020, to temporarily suspend the convenience fee until further notice.
