Motorola has unveiled the Edge 50 Pro, a mid-range phone with a camera system that boasts some serious color cred. The phone’s main draw is its Pantone-validated display and camera, promising more accurate color reproduction for both viewing and capturing photos. Motorola claims this is the first phone to achieve this distinction.
The focus on color accuracy doesn’t stop at the display. The Motorola Edge 50 Pro‘s triple-camera system, featuring a 50-megapixel main sensor, is also Pantone-validated. This makes those skin tones and sunsets look as close to real life as possible.
Rounding out the phone’s camera setup is a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. And a 13MP ultrawide that doubles as a macro lens with autofocus feature. At the front sees another 50-megapixel camera with autofocus for selfies.
The rest of the Edge 50 Pro’s specs are solid for a mid-ranger. It packs a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, a curved 6.7-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, and a smaller-than-usual 4,500mAh battery. However, that battery is offset by the phone’s support for insanely fast 125W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The phone runs Motorola’s Hello UX skin on top of Android 14, with Motorola guaranteeing three major OS upgrades and four years of security patches, albeit delivered quarterly.
