Dell has a wide range of laptops available, making it quite difficult to choose which can be the best for you or your company’s fleet use. However, most of the workforce today now uses a hybrid setup – a mix of work from home and office. As a result, you want a laptop that’s both thin and powerful, making it easy to work from wherever you are.
At the Dell Technologies Commercial Client and Ecosystem Showcase here in Malaysia, Dell introduced its new Lattitude line of commercial laptops. These Latitude laptops include the Latitude 7340/7440 Ultralight and the new Lattitude 9440 2-in-1 device, which certainly caught our attention.
The Lattitude 9440 measures 14 inches, and it can be spec’d to your liking. The particular model we saw uses an Intel VPro chip, which is specifically tailored for companies, businesses, and similar enterprises. However, it runs standard on Intel’s newest 13th-generation chips.
In terms of design, it looks strikingly similar to Dell’s XPS series laptops. What sets it apart though is the smart trackpad with shortcut buttons. From the trackpad, you can immediately close the camera, mute, and even check out messages sent to you while using Zoom. Dell says the shortcut buttons only work with Zoom at the moment, but it could be available with Teams and other similar apps in the future.
Aside from the Latitude 9440, there were also the Latitude 7330 and the Latitude 7440. Like the 9440, they’re quite slim too and are also powered by a 13th-generation Intel VPro chipset. However, these don’t come with the unique trackpad.
For companies and businesses interested in the Latitude series laptops, you may order them from the Dell Technologies website 27.
