Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) suspends trading starting March 17

The Philippine Stock Exchange has announced last night that it will suspend stock trading starting March 17, 2020 due to the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon announced by the government yesterday.

There will be no trading at the PSE and no clearing and settlement at the SCCP starting tomorrow, March 17, 2020, until further notice, due to the enhanced community quarantine implemented in Luzon.

A copy of the memo was posted on PSE’s FB page at the end of trading day, March 16, 2020.

There’s no mention as to when the PSE will re-open the trading but it could coincide with the quarantine period ending April 14, 2020.

The PSEi closed at 5,335.37 points which down 458.57 points or 7.92 percent for the day. The index was at a 52-week high of 8,419.59 points.
