Qualcomm and ODG outs R-8 and R-9 smartglasses powered by SD835

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and ODG (Osterhout Design Group), a Qualcomm Incorporated subsidiary, introduced the first devices to be powered by the Snapdragon 835 processor – the R-8 and R-9 AR smartglasses.

ODG (Osterhout Design Group) is a leading developer and manufacturer of mobile head-worn computing and augmented reality technologies and products. The R-8 is ODG’s first consumer mobile AR/VR smartglasses aimed at early adopter consumers. The R-9, on the other hand, is for a wide variety of wide field-of-view (FOV) experiences from light enterprise, to prosumer media consumption, and as a development platform for mobile AR/VR applications.

The R-8 and R-9 can display a private screen that floats in your view with the former delivering HD resolution while the latter at Full HD.
