Realme 16 now official with Air Design, Dimensity 6400 Turbo, and massive 7,000mAh battery

Realme has officially unveiled the Realme 16, completing its 16 series lineup following the earlier launch of the Pro and Pro+ models. The new device made its debut in Vietnam and is expected to roll out to more markets in the coming weeks.

Unlike its Pro siblings, the Realme 16 introduces a sleeker “Air Design”, drawing inspiration from minimalist smartphone trends popularized by devices like the iPhone Air and Google Pixel. The most striking visual element is the horizontal camera visor at the back, giving the phone a clean and modern look.

The rear houses a 50MP main camera using Sony’s IMX852 sensor, paired with a 2MP monochrome lens. Realme also adds its LumaColor Image processing technology for improved color accuracy. A unique touch is the selfie mirror along the edge, allowing users to capture high-quality selfies using the rear camera.

On the front, the Realme 16 features a 6.57-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel supports up to 4,500 nits peak brightness, is protected by AGC DT-Star D+ glass, and integrates an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. A 50MP selfie camera is housed on the display as well.

Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo, paired with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. Despite its slim 8.1mm profile and lightweight 183g body, the phone packs a massive 7,000mAh battery with 60W fast charging support.

Durability is another highlight, with the Realme 16 boasting quad IP ratings (IP66, IP68, IP69, IP69K), offering strong protection against dust, water immersion, and high-pressure water jets.

The Realme 16 is available in White Swan and Black Cloud color options. In Vietnam, pricing starts at VND 11,490,000 (around USD 443) for the 8GB/256GB variant and goes up to VND 12,490,000 (around USD 481) for the 12GB/256GB model.
