Samsung has recently announced its latest smart home and AI innovations at virtual CES 2021.
First on the list is the Samsung Bespoke 4-Door Flex Refrigerator that features changeable panels, allowing
consumers to customize their fridge. The new iteration comes with the new Beverage Center for quick access to a water dispenser and an automatically-filled water pitcher. The 4-door Bespoke also comes with a Dual Auto Ice Maker which makes regular cubed ice and ice bites to suit different cold beverages.
The next one is a JetBot 90 AI+, a smart vacuum cleaner that uses object recognition technology to identify and classify objects to decide the best cleaning path through its LiDAR and 3D sensors. It automatically avoids cables and small objects, while cleaning hard-to-reach corners. It can be linked and customized according to the user’s needs through the SmartThings app.
Last on the list are the three major AI technologies for its Samsung Bot: the Samsung Bot Care, Samsung Bot Handy, and Samsung Bot Retail. The first one is a robotic assistant and companion, helping people to keep track of their schedules and habits. It also sends reminders to help people be guided throughout the day.
The Bot Handy, meanwhile, tells the difference between the material composition of various objects. This helps in utilizing the appropriate amount of force to grab and move around household items and objects. This is applicable in doing house chores like cleaning up messy rooms or sorting out the dishes after a meal.
Lastly, the Samsung Bot Retail guides users outside the home in retail environments. Together with GEMS, Samsung’s health-focused exoskeleton as mobility aide, these innovations allow robots and robotic devices to co-exist with humans and enhance their lives and catering to a variety of lifestyles and different environments.
The last three AI innovations for Samsung Bot are currently under development.
Samsung also announced its new service from SmartThings, the SmartThings Cooking: that serves as an automatic meal planner, shopping lists provider with the ingredients you need for a certain recipe, and connects users to grocery retailers straight from the Family Hub refrigerator or your mobile screen.
On the other hand, the Samsung Smart Trainer feature on 2021 Samsung smart TVs tracks and analyzes posture in real-time. It also offers interactive workout videos and estimates of calories burned.
The brand also updates its Galaxy Upcycling Program for its smartphones, reimagining the lifecycle of previous Galaxy phones and offers consumers options on how they might be able to repurpose their device to create a variety of convenient IoT tools.
