Samsung’s web browser may soon get new multitasking and artificial intelligence (AI) features as part of the upcoming One UI 9 update, according to recent reports.

The update is expected to introduce a multi-window browsing feature, allowing users to open and view multiple websites at the same time. Instead of switching between tabs, users can see two active web pages side by side. On larger devices like foldable phones, the browser may even support three windows at once. This could make it easier to read, compare information, or watch videos while browsing another site.
Another feature being tested is called “Ask AI.” Reports say the tool can read the webpage a user is viewing and provide answers or suggestions based on the content. The AI system is reportedly powered by Perplexity and may be connected closely to the phone’s operating system. Because of this, it might use information from the browser such as browsing history or other activity to generate responses. Samsung is expected to include settings that allow users to control how long their activity data is stored.
A new option called “Enable Cross Device Resume” was also seen in a leaked version of the Samsung Browser. While it is not yet active, the feature may allow users to continue their browsing session on another device.
The One UI 9 beta program is expected to start in May, first for the Galaxy S26 series, followed by the Galaxy S25 lineup. The update may arrive later this year alongside Samsung’s upcoming foldable phones.
