Samsung has officially launched its new mid-range duo, the Galaxy A37 5G and Galaxy A57 5G, to the Philippines, with prices starting at Php 25,990 and Php 28,990, respectively.
The two phones are Samsung’s latest Galaxy A series refresh with a bigger push on AI features. Both run on Android 16 with One UI 8.5 and come with “Awesome Intelligence” tools such as Voice Transcription in the Voice Recorder app and AI Select on the Edge Panel, which lets you quickly grab text or content on screen and drop it into supported apps in split-screen. Circle to Search with Google is also available and now supports multi-object recognition, so you can highlight several items in one image and search for them all at once.
For cameras, the Galaxy A37 5G and A57 5G share a 50MP main shooter paired with a 5MP macro camera, while the ultra-wide differs between the two. 12MP on the A57 5G and 8MP on the A37 5G. Both also have a 12MP front camera. Samsung says the new Image Signal Processor plus improved Nightography deliver clearer low-light photos and videos on both models, with the Galaxy A57 5G getting extra image processing and a faster shutter for sharper details and less noise. On top of that, the A57 5G adds Best Face for picking better expressions from Motion Photos and Auto Trim for quicker video cuts, while Object Eraser has been tuned for more natural removals.
On the hardware side, both phones feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and Vision Booster, but the Galaxy A57 5G uses a Super AMOLED+ panel while the A37 5G gets a Super AMOLED screen (No “+” in the display for the A37). The A57 5G is also slimmer and lighter at 6.9 mm and 179g, compared to the A37 5G at 7.4 mm and 196g. Samsung positions the A57 5G as the more powerful option with upgraded CPU, GPU, and NPU over the previous A-series generation, though it doesn’t name the exact chipset in the release. Both pack a 5,000mAh battery, with Samsung claiming up to two days of use depending on network and usage. Both are IP68 rated for water and dust resistance.
Samsung is also pushing longevity and security on these devices. The Galaxy A37 5G and A57 5G are promised up to six years of Android OS and security updates. For protection, they feature Samsung Knox, with the A57 5G adding Knox Vault, a hardware-based secure environment for sensitive data, along with a Security & Privacy Dashboard, Auto Blocker, Private Sharing, Theft Protection, and a new Private Album in Gallery for locked media. Privacy Alerts will also notify users of potential issues with data or location access.
