The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has been on the market for a good number of years now. It was first released in 2020, but following an update in 2022, Samsung has decided to refresh the tablet once again for 2024.
Based on the specs and details announced, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) features roughly the same design as before. This time, there are three colors users can choose from – Oxford Gray, Chiffron Pink, and Mint.
If you’ve owned or used the older Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, you’ll be glad to know you still get the same aluminum body featuring a 10.4-inch TFT LCD screen with 2000 x 1200px resolution. Like before, there is also support for the Samsung S Pen, which comes bundled with the tablet.
The battery is very much the same as well, rated at 7,040 mAh, which according to Samsung is good enough for 14 hours of binge-watching videos. Like before, there are two cameras – an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera.
So what did Samsung change on the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite? The chipset. Samsung didn’t specify which chipset they used in the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024). In the announcement, they only said it runs a new “Quad core 2.4GHz + Quad core 2.0GHz” chipset, which suggests this tablet runs the Exynos 1280 chipset. For reference, the 2022 model used a Snapdragon 700 series chipset.
While the chipset is new, RAM is still limited to just 4GB. As for the storage, the tablet is available with either 64GB or 128GB internal storage which is expandable via a microSD slot. It now runs on Android 14 and comes with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.3. You can also get it with LTE.
There’s no word on the price just yet, but it will officially go on sale in select regions starting March 28, 2024.
