Listen to article

SeaBank is reportedly under soft opening here in the Philippines. A number of people have already registered with the SeaBank app and have funds or savings account that earns interest by as much as 6% p.a.

SeaBank Philippines has been silently operating within the Shopee Philippines organization and all of its current employees have been using the SeaBank app (Shopee is a subsidiary of Sea Group).

A number of Shopee employees have also been spotted posting on social media discussing group training together with SeaBank employees. Another source inside Shopee has also confirmed this trial run to us.

SeaBank is a mobile banking application for your daily financial needs. Earn more interest daily with attractive interest rates, while enjoying seamless transactions on your mobile phone anytime, anywhere.

SeaBank is a part of SeaMoney, the digital finance services arm of Sea Limited (NYSE:SE). Sea has been serving consumers since 2009 as a leading global consumer internet company. Sea’s other core businesses include Shopee, its e-commerce arm, and Garena, its digital entertainment arm. Sea’s mission is to improve the lives of consumers and small businesses with technology.

Once the limited trial is complete, SeaBank may formally open its doors to Filipinos wanting to open a new high-yield savings account.
