Senator Tito Sotto has suggested a total ban on all porn sites in the Philippines at the Senate discussions earlier today.
The bill in question, Senate Bill 1888 or Prevention of Adolescent Pregnancy Act of 2018, includes creating a program to educate teenagers on sexual topics such as HIV/AIDS, teen dating, and pornography. Discussing in the interpolation proceedings of the proposed topic, the senator suggested denying access to all Filipinos these sites based on how it is perceived by fellow senator Risa Hontiveros.

Several porn sites have already been blocked by a few telco companies as part of their RA 9775 (Child Pornography Law) compliance, but other lesser-known webpages are still accessible. Similarweb data also show porn sites as some of the most visited portals in the Philippines as of last year and still continues to date.
