Sony Xperia Ear Duo now official

Along with the new Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact, Sony has also announced its latest “open-ear” stereo wireless headset that features “Dual Listening” and “Daily Assist” features – the Xperia Ear Duo.

The Xperia Ear Duo features what Sony calls the Dual Listening technology which lets the users listen to music and receive notifications, while simultaneously hearing environmental sound or conversation.

It uses a Spatial Acoustic Conductor which was developed by Sony’s in-house technology incubator Future Lab Program, that allows the sound generated behind the ear by the unit’s driver to be transmitted directly into the ear.

As for its Daily Assist feature, it uses Sony’s ultra-low power consuming CXD5602 chip and a sophisticated multi-sensor platform to recognize time, location and activities to offer relevant information to the user throughout the day.

Other features include voice control with support for Google Assistant and Siri, quad-microphone beam-forming for clearer voice, IPX2 splash proofing, a 4-hour battery life, and its own charging case.

The Sony Xperia Ear Duo will ship in March in the US and comes in Black and Gold colours.
