0:00Laptops have been traditionally
0:02clamshell by design. There’s the screen
0:04on top and the keyboard on the bottom
0:06half. And that’s a really effective
0:08design choice that we still use today.
0:10But what if I told you that this laptop
0:12right here actually has
0:16a second screen built in. This is the
0:192026 Zenbook Duo from ASUS. And as
0:23compared to previous models, this one is
0:25quite an improvement. It’s much lighter,
0:28has a more refined look, and of course,
0:30it’s a powerful machine. So today, we’re
0:33taking a closer look at those
0:34improvements and including our favorite
0:36features from the 2026 Zenbook Duo so
0:39far. I’m your host CJ. Let’s get right
0:42into [music] it.
0:46Perhaps the best thing that has ever
0:47happened to this laptop is getting a
0:50more premium look and a lighter build.
0:52Everything just looks simpler. Gone are
0:54the random lines on the lid. It gets
0:56smoother curves all around. And more
0:59importantly, this laptop is more
1:01compact. It’s relatively smaller in
1:03length and width than the 2024 model.
1:05One major improvement here is the hinge.
1:08It’s much more subtle and looks way
1:10better in my opinion. This makes the gap
1:12smaller between the two ASUS Lumina Pro
1:14OLED panels measuring 7.66 mm. That
1:18means you have a much more seamless dual
1:20screen setup to work with. Adding to its
1:22sleeker look and feel is the material
1:24used here. Its entire chassis is made of
1:27ASUS’s own Cerametal material and sports
1:30a matte finish that actually feels nice
1:33to the touch, which also means it does a
1:35great job at resisting smudges. It has
1:37military-grade certification for some
1:40extra protection against the occasional
1:42drops. Not to mention, the included
1:44charging brick is also a lot more
1:46compact than those usual bricks that
1:48we’ve been getting with those typical
1:49Windows laptops. So, it honestly feels
1:52like a proper everyday laptop now. Even
1:55with that extra screen underneath, it
1:57doesn’t come off as a prototype or
1:58something. And if I may be bold about
2:00it, I think ASUS really nailed the
2:02design of a dual screen laptop with the
2:042026 Zenbook Duo. This could easily set
2:07the standard for this kind of form
2:09factor. Now for the main event, the dual
2:11screen setup itself. The 2026 Zenbook
2:14Duo sports two identical 14-in ASUS
2:17Lumina Pro OLED touch screens. These
2:19have incredibly sharp 3K resolution and
2:22have a smooth refresh rate of up to 144
2:24Hz. Everything looks detailed, colors
2:27are vibrant, and text render sharply.
2:30Something that I’m not used to the 1080p
2:32monitor of my personal laptop. For those
2:34who are into photo and video editing,
2:36I’m happy to report that the laptop
2:38covers 100% DCI-P3 color gamut,
2:41delivering wider, more accurate colors.
2:44Notably, the two screens are both an
2:46anti-glare and low-reflection display. I
2:48find this extremely helpful when I’m
2:50outdoors, removing those pesky
2:52reflections. I’d also like to highlight
2:55the audio quality, which sounds really
2:57good. It delivers a well-balanced mix of
2:59highs and mids while the bass has a
3:01satisfying punch that adds to the depth
3:03and fullness to the overall sound. Now
3:05that we’ve covered the display specs and
3:07features, let’s explore how you can
3:09really take advantage of the dual screen
3:11setup. This laptop offers various
3:13flexible setups and there’s actually fun
3:15that you can do. First, of course, is
3:18laptop mode. Like I said earlier, this
3:20feels more like a proper everyday laptop
3:23now. So from afar, one wouldn’t think
3:25that this has a second screen at all. We
3:27took this laptop to different places and
3:29laptop mode is the way to go for tight
3:31spaces. Now, if ever I need more screen
3:35real estate, I can just take out the
3:36slim keyboard, prop up the bottom stand
3:39here, and instantly have a dual screen
3:41setup with a physical keyboard. So it
3:43will look like
3:45this.
3:46And your keyboard. The keyboard is
3:48Bluetooth-enabled and automatically
3:50charges via pogo pins from the laptop.
3:52So you won’t really need to worry about
3:54it running out of juice. I find this
3:56setup insanely useful for editing
3:58videos, doing research, or doing the
4:01same research while watching some video
4:03on the side. It makes multitasking feel
4:05seamless and genuinely satisfying. It’s
4:07also an efficient way to set up dual
4:09monitors instead of using an actual
4:11second monitor or a tablet, for example.
4:14Interestingly, the bottom screen can
4:15also be configured with a virtual
4:17keyboard and app-specific controls,
4:19adding another layer of functionality.
4:21There is a bit of a learning curve, but
4:23once you’ve dialed everything into your
4:25liking, it becomes a really useful
4:27feature to have. There’s also the
4:29desktop mode where you turn the laptop
4:31on its side, effectively giving you a
4:33tall display that feels like a single
4:3519.8-in OLED panel. So, do it like this.
4:42Tada! It’s particularly well-suited for
4:45productivity tasks like reading long
4:47documents, coding, or working on
4:49timelines. These are much more
4:51comfortable to work on thanks to the
4:53added vertical space. It also pairs
4:55nicely with the detachable keyboard,
4:57letting you position it however you’d
4:59like for a more desktop-like setup.
5:01Lastly, there’s the sharing mode where
5:03you lay the laptop flat at 180°,
5:06allowing you and someone across from you
5:08to view the same content at the same
5:09time, making it ideal for collaborative
5:11tasks like sketching ideas, annotating
5:14documents, or reviewing edits in real
5:16time. It’s a thoughtful addition that
5:18makes the device more versatile,
5:20especially in meetings or creative
5:21workflows. The next thing we generally
5:23like about this laptop is how powerful
5:25it is. Under the hood, our unit is
5:27equipped with the Intel Core 9 with 16
5:30cores and 16 threads slotted up to 4.9
5:33GHz paired with Intel graphics. For
5:35config, it gets 32 GB LPDDR5X RAM and a
5:39terabyte of SSD storage. We’ve had this
5:42laptop for weeks now, and doing the same
5:44workflow that we usually do on this
5:46laptop feels way faster in my
5:48experience. Especially when plugged in,
5:51everything feels snappy thanks in part
5:53to the 144 Hz refresh rate. Opening
5:56Premiere Pro, for example, it loads
5:58relatively quickly. And rendering times
6:00for 4K videos that we edit were a lot
6:02shorter in our experience. We also
6:04didn’t encounter any slowdowns when
6:06using productivity apps and even when a
6:08bunch of tabs are open on the browser.
6:10Thermal management is also quite good.
6:12It stays cool during productivity tasks
6:14and entertainment use. And the fans
6:16remain pleasantly quiet under these
6:18conditions. However, it can get a bit
6:21warm when handling more demanding
6:23workloads like video editing and gaming.
6:25While it doesn’t have a dedicated GPU,
6:28the laptop can still handle some
6:29triple-A gaming. We tried playing titles
6:32like Hogwarts Legacy, Monster Hunter
6:34World, and Red Dead Redemption 2. And
6:36these games were definitely playable at
6:381080p at 60 FPS. This performance is
6:40achievable even when the laptop is
6:42running on battery, by the way. And
6:44since this is a dual screen laptop with
6:46a built-in stand, it does offer proper
6:49air ventilation. You actually have a
6:51more comfortable setup since your hand
6:53won’t touch the laptop itself when it’s
6:55in dual screen mode. So there’s that.
6:57Last, but definitely not the least
6:58commendable thing about this laptop is
7:01its solid battery life. The 2026 Zenbook
7:03Duo packs a 99-W hour unit, and in our
7:06experience, we easily got almost 10
7:09hours of screen time on a single charge
7:11with typical use. This includes our
7:13usual tasks like doing research and
7:15writing, as well as watching content on
7:17YouTube and Netflix. When editing a
7:18video or gaming, we still got a decent
7:21battery life of over 6 hours. Take note
7:23that the screen refresh rate is default
7:25to 60 Hz on battery. It automatically
7:27changes to 144 Hz when plugged in. That
7:30actually makes sense since the laptop
7:32does save on some power consumption,
7:34leading to a longer battery life.
7:36Standby time is also looking good. I
7:38left the laptop at 100%, and by the time
7:40I used it again, the battery went down
7:42to just 95% in a span of over 14 hours.
7:46Not going to lie, those numbers are
7:47surprisingly good for a Windows laptop.
7:50So that’s a step in the right direction.
7:53So there you have it. Those are some of
7:55the most favorite features that we like
7:56about this laptop so far. The 2026
7:59Zenbook Duo was honestly a breath of
8:01fresh air. It’s great for companies
8:03experimenting with new ideas and
8:05refining them until everything feels
8:07intuitive and well-designed. It’s simply
8:09a laptop with dual displays done right.
8:11It works well as a standard laptop and
8:13even better as a dual display machine.
8:16If I’m being honest here, my colleague
8:18JM, who reviewed this laptop, actually
8:20wants to get one for himself. So, that
8:23explains a lot already. You really can’t
8:25go wrong with the Zenbook Duo, and I
8:28don’t think the second display is an
8:29overkill. It’s functional and adds an
8:31extra layer of convenience for all your
8:33multitasking needs.
8:35The 2026 ASUS Zenbook Duo is now
8:38available at your nearest ASUS concept
