Just days after we released our full review of the Xperia Tablet Z, Sony Philippines has made the gorgeous 10-inch tablet available nationwide through their concept stores. Read on for the full details.
The one that we have for review was a 16GB Wi-Fi only version which currently retails for Php27,500USD 469INR 39,727EUR 446CNY 3,413 on e-tailers. On the other hand, Sony’s selling the LTE-enabled version with the same internal storage and they’re asking Php35,990USD 613INR 51,991EUR 584CNY 4,466 for it.
We’re not entirely sure what to make out of Sony PH’s pricing, because the tablet is marginally cheaper in other countries where it was also being retailed. For example, in the UK it only costs £499 or little under 33k in our local currency same goes for India where it retails for an equivalent amount of Php32,364USD 551INR 46,753EUR 525CNY 4,016.
The bottom line here is that although we think that the Sony Xperia Tablet Z is currently the best looking (and performing) 10-inch Android tablets in the lot, shelling out 36K for it is a little too much even if it has LTE connectivity. it’s ok… you wont find any other tablet in the earth which has an outstanding design, monster specs and waterproof body bearing a Sony logo. This is the best looking tablet ever!
von says:
That is way too much! Considering the old displat unlike the new Triluminos display of Sony that this tablet doesn’t even sport! The old processor!
This doesn’t even allow for multi window apps unlike Sony.
THIS IS TOO MUCH. Sony and their delusional prices. But then again I seriously think that this price would decrease immediately.
OMG what more pa kaya the price os teh Z Ultra which I’m eyeing. :|
fr0stbyte says:
27K for the 16 GB Wifi model? Dito sa Australia 20K lang equivalent na price nyan. Considering na mahal ang electronics dito I find that price weird. Maybe 23K pwede pa.
irv says:

Too expensive ! That is why cherry and other re brand tablet are doing very well! Who want to shell out that amount when in a few months a new tablet will be coming out with better features at lower price!

Sony has always meant overpriced piece of shit. Even when it comes to TVs I’m no Sony fanatic (give me Philips anytime. Too bad they pulled out of the local market.)
Justin says:
