SpaceX has introduced a new Starlink offering called Starlink Premium which boasts double the antenna capability of Starlink for faster internet speeds and higher throughput.
SpaceX says that Starlink Premium is designed for high-demand users and businesses. The antenna is now bigger with a squarish shape for more throughput to ensure bandwidth for critical operations even during times of peak network usage. It also has improved performance in extreme weather conditions.
Users can expect speeds of 150-500 Mbps with a latency of 20-40ms (the original Starlink offers 100-200 Mbps with 20ms latency). There are no long-term contracts, data caps, or exclusivity requirements.
The Starlink Premium Kit comes with the new Starlink antenna, WiFi router, cables, and base. It also offers 24/7 prioritized support.
The Starlink Premium antenna costs USD 2,500 while the monthly subscription is at USD 500. The company is now accepting orders with expected shipping in Q2 2022.
