Listen to article

From a new tablet, a new foldable, and new smartwatches, Xiaomi has also unveiled two new smart wearables: the Xiaomi AI Glasses and the OpenWear Stereo Pro.

Xiaomi AI Glasses

Starting with the AI Glasses, it weighs just 40 grams and come in Black, Brown, and Green color options, with an optional electrochromic lens that can switch tint in just a split second.

The frame features titanium alloy hinges for durability and is shaped to fit Asian facial features more comfortably.

It features a 12MP first-person camera (Sony IMX681), dual speakers, and a five-mic array with bone conduction and wind noise reduction. A couple of its highlights are real-time livestreaming and first-person video calling.

Under the hood, the glasses run on a dual-chip system: a Snapdragon AR1 processor handles high-performance tasks, while a secondary low-power chip uses Xiaomi’s Vela OS for basic operations. The 263mAh battery offers up to 8.6 hours of usage, or so Xiaomi claims at least.

AI capabilities include object and text recognition, live translation across 10 languages, calorie estimation, and Q&A-style information retrieval. It also acts as a productivity tool with live transcription, meeting summaries, and real-time interpretation.

Xiaomi OpenWear Stereo Pro

Moving over to the Xiaomi OpenWear Stereo Pro, it’s a pair of open-ear wireless earphones available in Gold, Black, and Silver colorways. It features skin-friendly liquid silicone and a flexible ear-hook design.

Xiaomi claims the earphones have passed over 5,000 bend tests, suggesting they’re built to last.

It’s equipped with a five-driver audio system and a custom 18 by 13 mm speaker, aiming to deliver improved sound in an open-ear setup. An independent active sound leakage reduction feature helps limit sound bleed to within 25cm.

The earphones run on Xiaomi HyperOS and support features like built-in audio recording, AI transcription, and real-time translation when paired with the Xiaomi Earbuds app.

Price and availability

Both wearables are available for purchase in China, with the official prices as follows:

  • Xiaomi AI Glasses – CNY 1,999
  • Xiaomi OpenWear Stereo Pro – CNY 999
