Intel’s latest product has just got its retail details and pricing.
Intel Optane memory is the second product to utilize Intel’s 3D XPoint technology after the Optane SSD DC P4800X announced last March. Optane memory is not a standalone storage solution, though, as it works in existing storage drive and memory. It creates a bridge between the DRAM and storage like a caching solution.
Intel claims it can help productivity apps load up to 5.8X faster. As for gaming, it can do up to 67% faster game launches and up to 65% loading times. While it may sound good to help with older PCs, Optane memory is only supported in Kaby Lake systems.
Optane memory solutions will available through international retailers in 16GB and 32GB capacities with prices of $44 (~Php2,200) and $77 (~Php3,900), respectively.
