Last week, Samsung released its first mobile phone with a built-in 3GB hard drive. The Samsung SPH-V7900 mobile phone also has 2 cameras, one of which takes photos at 2.0 megapixels, dual screens and twin speakers. The LCD screen is 240 x 320 pixels. On December last year, Samsung released the first mobile phone with a built-in HDD, SPH-V5400.
Okay, phones with 3GB of storage is cool, but thru a hard drive? Not! I have a Nokia 3230 for just over 2 months now and I already have banged it or dropped it over a dozen times. Good thing the LCD is still intact and the built-inRS-MMC is running just fine. With a hard drive, I’m pretty sure I could have cracked it already or at least get a couple of bad clusters.
And unless your phone has some pretty good processor in it, I’m sure the access time would be unbearable. I recently upgrade my phone’s memory card to 256MB and now I’m finding it slower than ever when accessing files thru it.
