Toshiba Encore 2, Windows 8.1 tablets starting at $199.99

Along with the Android-powered Excite Go, Toshiba also announced two new tablets powered by Windows 8.1 OS – the Encore 2.

The Encore 2 comes in two variants – the 8-inch model and the 10.1-inch model. Both sport resolutions of 1280 x 800, which gives you a pixel density of 189ppi and 151ppi, respectively.

Other specs include the quad-core Intel Atom CPU, 64GB internal storage, up to 128GB via microSD, 5 megapixel AF rear camera, HD front camera, stereo speakers with Dolby Digital Plus audio, WiFi 802.11n, microUSB 2.0, micro HDMI port, and Windows 8.1 OS. They also come preloaded with apps like Xbox Music and Video, Kindle Reader, Skype and a one year subscription to Office 365.

The 8-inch Encore 2 has a price tag of $199.99 while the 10-inch Encore 2 costs $269.99. Both will be available in the U.S. in early July.

    They have to make this available in my country. Somebody has got to import this at all cost possible. I have got to have one of this. I can’t wait to play Crysis 3 here. HAHAHAHAHAHA LOL

    you forgot to mention that the 199 dollar version only got 1 gigabyte of RAM. you have to add 50 dollars to get the 2GB version with 32 GB of storage. its not cheap at all cause you can already get the Dell Venue Pro 8 for only 200 dollars, at least in US
