Google is at it again with limiting the group meetings on free tier of Google Meet to only one hour, and it begins ‘this month’.

Google Meet free tier 1-hour limit

While you may still enjoy 1-on-1 meetings for up to 24 hours, hosting a group meeting with more than three participants is now limited to one hour, unless you upgrade to Google One plan.

The said plan is priced at Php 479 /month that offers ‘Google Workspace premium’ features that include longer video calls, livestreaming video calls on YouTube, and video call recording among others. Plus, 2TB of Google Drive storage.

Google has already applied the limit in 2020 but changed their minds to offer premium Meet to everyone two years since.

Against the competition though, Google Meet has a 20-minute advantage over Zoom calls that are limited to only 40 minutes.

Google has not mentioned the exact date to implement the limit, aside from the line “beginning this month.”
