Twitter for Android gets Tablet UI

Listen to article

For a long time, Twitter has a unified interface for all Android devices. Then, it got an interface overhaul but still has no tablet-optimized user interface. Twitter for Android is finally getting an update that will support tablet UI.

The new update will have your Tweets, conversations, Trend, accounts to follow and more in a single screen when in landscape orientation. Before, checking photos, videos or article previews will open another sub-window, with the tablet UI the Tweet will expand instead. Another tap will then take you to a fullscreen browser to play a video or read the article.

The update will be first available on Samsung tablets and the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition will be the first to enjoy this. Other Android tablets will receive the update by the end of 2013.

The update also features Multi-screen support by Samsung’s TouchWiz, a new redesigned widget, and the ability to draw on your photos which will also work for the S-Pen.

Again, the update will soon roll out to all Android tablets before the end of the year.

Photo drawing will be a useful feature – saves me time when I just want to comment on an already existing image.
