I’ve been spending the past week with DJI’s newest pocket camera powerhouse — the Osmo Pocket 4. It was our go-to camera for some scenes where a dSLR or mirrorless camera would not be practical. The camera delivers 14 stops of dynamic range, which means you get both the darkest shadows and brightest highlights in one shot without blowing out the sky. The 3-axis mechanical gimbal is still here, and it’s better than ever. I get a bit worried it might not be enough to protect the camera and gimbal when stowed inside my backpack. It delivered much on the improvements over its predecessor along with a better camera sensor and video capability. The Standard Combo is priced at Php 28,990 and includes the Osmo Pocket 4, USB-C to USB-C PD cable, wrist strap, carrying pouch, handle and gimbal clamp. Canon may be preparing to enter the pocket gimbal camera segment, based on a newly published patent that outlines a compact, stabilized handheld device aimed at content creators.
