Acer has released a new convertible Chromebook that takes a head on Google's PixelBook dubbed the Spin 11 and its price won't make make your wallet cry (for a little bit). Acer has officially unveiled the Chromebook Plus Spin 514, its first Chromebook powered by the MediaTek Kompanio Ultra 910 processor, offering built-in Google AI features, impressive battery life, and a rugged convertible design—all headlined for creators, students, and professionals who need performance and portability. The new Chromebook Plus Spin 514 (CP514-5HN) steps up with the MediaTek Kompanio Ultra 910 CPU paired with a dedicated NPU able to deliver up to 50 TOPS of AI processing power, enabling real-time on-device AI features such as smart tab grouping, AI-powered image editing, and seamless Google Lens integration. Acer is offering a free 12-month Google AI Pro plan with this Chromebook, providing expanded Gemini, Flow, and NotebookLM access plus 2TB of cloud storage on Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos. Alongside the Spin 514, Acer also rolled out the Chromebox CXI6 and Chromebox Mini CXM2, compact ChromeOS desktops designed for workstations, classrooms, and commercial kiosks.
