As the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona approaches, HONOR has confirmed that it will demo its AI deepfake detection technology along with other AI features under its so-called “HONOR Alpha Plan”. This feature essentially identifies deepfake content, and apparently, ‘deep faked’ video calls in real-time. First introduced at the MWC Shanghai last year, HONOR’s AI deepfake detection technology uses on-device advanced AI algorithms to detect subtle inconsistencies that the human eye might miss. Microsoft has also introduced tools to counter deepfakes, including a face-blurring feature for images uploaded to Copilot. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite NPU offers local deepfake detection while maintaining user privacy with the help of McAfee’s AI models. We should be able to see HONOR’s deepfake detection feature in action starting March 2nd at the MWC Barcelona.
