Back in June, local courier Air 21 bought the Barako Bulls PBA franchise, their second team in the league. The news came out as the CEO of Air 21 spoke at the IMMAP Summit today: Shiela Lina, President/CEO of Air 21 Global reveals their "Shopinas.com Clickers" will replace Barako Bulls franchise in PBA. Air 21 also operates Shopinas.com, launched last year, as an online shopping store. Renaming a PBA team after a website is a first for the PBA and Air21 seems very serious in pushing the brand to the masses. It's surprising that Air21 would spend that much for branding of Shopinas.com but its effect remains to be seen.
