AMD has just unveiled their new Zen 4 architecture along with a new AMD socket, AM5. AMD has also announced that the new socket will still be backwards compatible with the older AM4 coolers. The new Zen 4 architecture will be produced with a new 5nm technology making it supposedly faster and more power efficient. The new Zen 4 architecture and sockets will be released in the second half of 2022. AMD has announced the new Ryzen 9 9950X3D2, a high-end desktop processor with dual 3D V-Cache, offering up to 208MB of total cache. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 comes with 16 cores and 32 threads. It supports AM5 motherboards, making it compatible with current AMD desktop platforms. AMD said the processor is unlocked for overclocking and uses second-generation 3D V-Cache, which helps manage heat while keeping performance stable.
