Fresh from Sony’s blogsite is an announcement that Android KitKat updates for the Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, and Xperia Z1 Compact “starts right about now”. In addition to the Galaxy Note 3, Samsung will be rolling out an Android KitKat update to more than a dozen Galaxy devices starting today. One example of this is putting Android versions in the time on Nexus devices (Nexus S - Gingerbread 2:30, Nexus 7 - Jellybean 4:10 and so forth). Just when everybody thought that the next version of Android will be named Key Lime Pie, Google surprised the cyberworld by announcing that the upcoming Android 4.4 will go by the KitKat moniker. It all started with Android 1.5 which was named Cupcake, then followed by Donut(v1.6), Éclair (v2.0) and Froyo (v2.2). So far, Google remains mum on the things we can expect from KitKat besides their oath to “make an amazing Android experience available for everybody”.
