These chips are expected to power many premium Android smartphones launching in 2027. MediaTek has introduced the Dimensity 7500, its latest smartphone chipset designed for mainstream devices and the successor to the Dimensity 7400. Built using a 4nm process, the Dimensity 7500 is the first MediaTek chipset to use Arm’s new C1 CPU cores. The chipset also introduces the MediaTek NPU 850, which is designed for on-device generative AI tasks. Google has just announced a new version of Android 12 that is catered to larger screen sizes called, Android 12L. Android 12L will focus on tablets, foldables, and ChromeOS devices. The new android version also introduces a new taskbar that allows users to switch between different apps. Android 12L is set to release in early 2022, but the new features are now available on the 12L developer preview page.
