Qualcomm will raise the prices of its processors starting September 1, 2026, a move that could increase production costs for Android smartphone makers and lead to higher device prices. The clarification comes after a report from Android Headlines claimed that Oppo, OnePlus’ parent company, was closing the brand’s mobile operations. Despite these challenges, Oppo has reportedly assured users that existing OnePlus phones will still receive software updates and warranty support. Motorola appears to be preparing two new midrange smartphones, the moto g67 and moto g77. According to the listing, both phones feature a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits. Both devices are listed with Android 16 and a 5,200mAh battery supporting up to 30W charging. Asus has officially confirmed that it will stop making new smartphones, marking a major shift for the company. While Asus stopped short of saying it will never return to smartphones, the company said it will only continue to observe the market.
