Apple has just announced that it's refreshing the iPod touch by giving it a new chipset and a new storage option. The latest iPod touch will now be equipped with an A10 Fusion chipset, replacing the A8 chipset in its previous model. With the A10, the new iPod touch now allows users to make Group FaceTime call and now has support for AR games. Other specs of the iPod touch will be retained, such as the 4-inch screen with an 1136x640 resolution, 8MP rear camera, 1.2MP front camera, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. A patent application filed by Apple has just surfaced, showing what seems to be a device that combines both Apple's AirPods and their classic iPod or iPod Nano design. This looks to be another budding innovation from Apple but it is still in a form of a patent application so it will take a while for this "iPod-AirPod" combo to become reality (if at all). I got my hands on the new iPod Touch yesterday. Two of the most attractive features of the iPod Touch for me are the wide screen video player (something you can hook up inside your car in lieu of those NextBase players) and the full featured Safari browser (which allows you to surf and comfortably read blogs via wifi without opening up your laptop or desktop computer).
