Apple has introduced new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models powered by the new M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. The new MacBook Pro is designed for developers, designers, video editors, engineers, and other professionals who run heavy tasks on their laptops. Apple said the new chips can deliver up to four times faster AI performance than the previous generation and up to eight times faster compared to MacBook Pro models with the M1 chip. Apple said the new MacBook Pro can reach up to twice the SSD read and write speed of the previous generation, helping users work faster with large files such as 4K or 8K videos and large datasets. The MacBook Pro with the M5 Pro chip now starts with 1TB of storage, while the model with the M5 Max chip starts with 2TB of storage. The MacBook Pro includes a Liquid Retina XDR display with an optional nano-texture finish, Thunderbolt 5 ports, HDMI with support for up to 8K displays, an SDXC card slot, and MagSafe charging. The new MacBook Pro comes in Space Black and Silver and runs macOS Tahoe, which includes updated search tools, Apple Intelligence features, and system improvements for productivity.
