#Apple Pay and Google Pay

As reported by Inquirer.net, digital wallet services Apple Pay and Google Pay may arrive in the country. The entry of both services in the Philippines could reshape the payments landscape headed by companies like GCash and Maya. However, this could also bring forth positives like innovation among service providers, improved services, and better integration for international payments. Introducing Apple Pay and Google Pay will cement the importance of growing the digital aspect of the financial sector nationwide. End-to-end encrypted Apple and Google RCS messaging is rolling out in beta after an effort by Apple and Google to improve secure texting. Apple has introduced a new subscription option on the App Store that lets users pay monthly while committing for 12 months. With this option, users can subscribe and pay each month instead of paying for a full year upfront. Apple said users will be able to track how many payments they have completed and how many are left through their Apple Account.
