Asus finally made some nice external DVD writer to match their pretty netbooks and nettops -- the Asus SDRW-08D1S-U External DVD-RW Drive matches the finish of the Eee PC and the form factor of the Eee Box. But that's just it -- an external DVD burner that should stylishly match any of your current Asus netbook. Still have to run some burn-in test but Asus claims an 8x speed on DVD and 24x on CD. Of course, there will be other alternatives out there but if you have an Asus netbook/nettop, it's nice to pair with wit an Asus ODD. Asus Philippines will finally launch the newer edition of its Eee PC series this week. After last month's launching at Computex in Taiwan, Asus is bringing here the 10-inch Eee PC 1000. From the Asus website, looks like they'd be coming out with 6 shiny colors of the Asus Eee PC -- Red, Green, Black, Peony White, Pearl White and Fine Ebony. Other models released earlier in Taiwan but will not be available locally are the Asus Eee PC 1000H, 1000HD, 901 and 904HD.
