The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) has just announced a price increase for the Stored Value Card (Beep card). From PHP 20, the Beep card will now be sold at PHP 30, plus the initial load. UPDATE (January 3, 2020): The Department of Transportation issued a statement regarding the Beep card price markup. The price increase is reflected in the issuance fee of the Beep Stored Value card. Starting today, September 20, students, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities (PWDs) can now apply for white Beep cards over-the-counter. Student Beep cards with a 50% fare discount will be available starting September 15, 2025. The 50% fare discount will be available at all train stations using Beep cards. The DOTr has also added 300,000 new Beep cards to address demand.
